Verification of seafarers’ qualification documents takes place at VRF.MARAD.GOV.UA
We would like to remind you that the verification of seafarers’ qualification documents takes place at VRF.MARAD.GOV.UA. A convenient service has been created to speed up and improve the process of establishing the authenticity of seafarers’ documents. Follow the detailed instructions and receive confirmation from the Shipping Administration.
Step one: REGISTRATION
On the official website of the Shipping Administration (https://marad.gov.ua), select the “Verification” section and follow the link. To create a new account, click “Create an account”. After filling in the form with personal data, click “Create account”. If you successfully register in the system, the message “Your account has been successfully created” will appear at the top of the page.
Enter the following data in the form: e-mail; password; full name; gender; date of birth; phone number; 3×4 cm photo (not a mandatory registration field).
The second stage: VERIFICATION REQUEST
In the Personal Account, click “Verification request”, fill in the required data in the “Confirmation of qualification documents” form and click “Submit request”. After the document is sent for verification to the Shipping Administration, the message “Your request has been successfully generated” will appear in the Personal Area. The same message will be sent to the e-mail specified during registration.
Please note: To verify each individual document, the form must be filled out separately.
Enter the necessary data depending on the type of document: Full name; date of birth; first name in English; last name in English; gender; citizenship; rank; title in English; position; position in English; standard of competence in accordance with the STCW Convention; additional data according to the seafarer’s qualification in Ukrainian and English. Select the type of document to be checked, attach a scanned copy of it and the necessary information.
The third stage: VERIFICATION RESULTS
The status of the request can be checked in the Personal Account. There are four options for the status of a user’s request: “Approved”, “Rejected”, ‘Processing’, “Canceled”. To cancel a request, click on the button in the upper right corner of the request.
The results of the request verification will appear in your Personal Account and in your e-mail. If the document is valid, the status of the document will change to “Valid” in the Personal Account, and it will be available for download from the Personal Account in Ukrainian and English. A corresponding letter with the verification results will also be sent to the e-mail address specified during registration. If the document is not valid, the status of the document will change to “Not valid” in the Personal Account, and it will be available for download from the Personal Account in Ukrainian and English. A corresponding letter with the verification results will also be sent to the e-mail address specified during registration. If the document verification request form was filled in incorrectly, the status “Rejected” will appear in the Requests section of the Personal Account, indicating the reason for the rejection. A corresponding letter with the reason for refusal will also be sent to the e-mail specified during registration.
Please note: Seafarers who have not received a response on the verification of documents can submit an application in the VRF.MARAD.GOV.UA system and receive a response in Ukrainian and English.
We emphasize that according to the new certification procedure in Ukraine, the execution and verification of documents is the responsibility of the Shipping Administration.
