The STCW Basic Safety Training is meant for all the crewmembers of a ship. For example, for people that work in the commercial shipping branch, fishing branch or even in the private branch for people who possess a seaworthy ship.
The STCW Advanced Fire fighting training is meant for the leader of the Firefighting team or the leader of the emergency rescue team on board of a ship. The Advanced Fire Fighting is mandatory for all officers.
The training STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, other than Fast Rescue Boats (PSCRB) is meant for anyone who’s task it is to be a crewmember of a rescue boat on a ship. During this course the participant is taught how to deal with emergency situations and how to take responsibility in case the survival crafts and rescue boats need to be deployed or launched.
The course STCW Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats is meant for anyone whose task it is to be a crewmember of a fast rescue boat on board of a ship. During the course STCW Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats the course participant is taught to check the readiness and the handling of the Fast Rescue Boats.
The STCW Medical First Aid course exists for employees who are responsible for the medical care on board. The captain is initially responsible for the medical care on board and should be able to provide medical care at all times. In many cases, besides the captain, another person (e.g. the first or 2nd mate) is appointed responsible for the medical care on board.
During the course STCW Medical Care, the skills of the course STCW Medical First Aid are extended and complemented with extra skills. The course Medical Care teaches you to adequately act to accidents and illnesses when no external medical support is available.
The STCW Security Awareness (SA) training is meant for anyone who works at sea that have not been assigned to carry out the protection tasks according to the shipping protection plan. These people have to obtain the certificate STCW Security Awareness.
The STCW Designated Security Duties training (DSD) is aimed at all maritime personal, with exception of the Ship Security Officer, who is responsible for specific safety tasks. After completion of the STCW Designated Security training, the participant will be able to carry out assigned safety procedures.
The training STCW Ship Security Officer (SSO) is intended for seafarers working on board vessels requiring qualification and employment as a Ship Security Officer. The Ship Security Officer (SSO) will be appointed by the shipping company.

This program is intended for officers and ratings personnel responsible for cargo operations on ships carrying hazardous substances in bulk and in packaging.
