Description

Course assignment:

This course provides training in use of radar, ARPA/TT (Automatic radar plotting aid/Target tracking) and AIS (Automatic identification system) reporting functions, bridge teamwork and search and rescue for trainees at the management level on ships fitted with radar equipment.

This course includes training related to acquiring, analyzing and applying radar resources to manage proper command decision-making with regard to safe navigation and successful search and rescue, to meet the mandatory requirements relating to the radar system: “plan a voyage and conduct navigation”, “determine position and the accuracy of resultant position fix by any means”, “coordinate search and rescue operations”, “establish watchkeeping arrangements and procedures” as set out in section A-II/2 of the STCW Code.

The target audience:

The aim of this course is to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers in navigation for the function: Maintain safe navigation through the use of information from navigation equipment and systems to assist command decision-making at the Management Level as specified in table A-II/2 of the STCW Code.

To register for a training course, you must provide copies of the following documents:

1. Ukrainian passport (1st, 2nd, 3d page and registration), or ID card (pages 1 and 2 and extract), or permanent/temporary residence permit;

2. Taxpayer registration number (VAT identification number) / (formerly identification number)

3. Working diploma with confirmation (for cadets: certificate from an educational institution, or cadet ticket, or record book);

4. Seaman’s identity card (1 page and last voyage);

5. Ukrainian passport for travel abroad (1 page);

6. Medical certificate;

6. Photo 3×4.

The training is carried out in accordance with the requirements of regulation VI/6 (paragraphs 1, 2) of the STCW Convention, section A-VI/6 (paragraphs 1-4), table A-VI/6-1 and the guidance given in Part B of the STCW Code. The training of students is carried out in accordance with the requirements of sections A-III/1, A-VIII/2 (parts 3, 4, 4-2), B-I/12 (paragraph 73), B-VIII/2 (part 4-2) of the STCW Code.
